Location: U.S. 65 in Faulkner County near Arkansas 287
Details: According to a report from KATV, Dakota Scoggins, 26, of Maysville, Oklahoma, was driving a 2016 Hyundai on U.S. 65 near Arkansas 287 when he swerved to avoid a car accident that had previously occurred. In doing so, however, he hit the side of a 2006 Ford driven by Louis Smith, 42, of North Little Rock. The crash, which took place on December 31, 2018, resulted in Scoggins’ death and injuries to Smith, who was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway.
Road conditions were wet and overcast, according to state police, which may have exacerbated the incident.
