tkins resident Nicki Settlemire died on Memorial Day after a Union Pacific train struck her 1998 Ford Explorer at a railroad crossing located near the intersection of State Highway 64 and Avenue Four Southeast on the east side of Atkins. Union Pacific and the Atkins Police Department continued to investigate the accident late Monday afternoon when contacted by The Courier News.
